Talk about a dereliction of duty. Conservatives at the Federal, State and Local level are acting irresponsibly, endangering people and completely ignoring common sense and good judgement.

No. We cannot shut down parts of the economy and stay at home forever. But we are a large enough economy and have the expertise to figure this out. Another massive recession or thousands of deaths are not the only two choices. Leadership and decisive action are what's needed. Conservatives, thus far, have provided neither.

A proper Federal response would have been to take this seriously in January, start getting everyone tested, begin contact tracing, restrict travel and begin staying at home. At the same time, invoke the Defense Production Act to produce ventilators, masks, personal protective equipment and any other items the pandemic response team or medical professionals feel are necessary.

Also, this can't be a state-by-state decision. A pandemic needs a Federal, if not global, response. Due to the travel of people and goods, we need everyone operating by the same rules.

And, if you're not going to take this pandemic seriously, don't bother going to the hospital or taking the time of medical professionals if you're infected or experiencing symptoms. Since you think you know more than the actual infectious disease experts, you're on your own. Curl up in your MAGA hat, cling to your gun, and pray for relief. Ya know, thoughts and prayers.

The Daily Mail bluntly described the situation, Coronavirus has killed more Americans in one month than both flu and car accidents do in an entire YEAR.

As for the new coronavirus? On March 20, the death toll in the United States was 225. By April 20, the coronavirus had killed more than 42,000 Americans.

Donald Trump, Republicans and the right-wing media have done such a disservice to this country by muddling this discussion with all their lies, misinformation and nonsense. This is the height of irresponsibility for those with a public platform. Turn off Fox News. Turn off Donald Trump. Listen to the experts.

So, go ahead, get together. But when you're sick, or your family is sick, or your friend is sick, don't you fucking dare call a doctor or go to the hospital. You're on your own. Just hunker down in that doomsday bunker of yours and die.

Wisconsin's Governor Tony Evers tried to do the right thing. And, as usual, Republicans did not.

In an effort to allow people more time to vote, Evers tried to extend the period for absentee ballots. You know, since we're in the midst of a pandemic and people have other things on their minds.

Wisconsin's election is still April 7, but a federal judge has extended the deadline for absentee votes to be counted

Evers tried to postpone the election until June. You know, because we're in the midst of a pandemic and it would be foolish and dangerous to go forward with an election.

But, of course, the conservative-stacked courts, at the state and federal level, denied more time for absentee ballots and overruled Evers delay of the election.

I'm sure the Republicans, along with the court justices, that felt we could not dare delay the election, will be working at the polls tomorrow on election day. Yes, I have no doubt that these great public servants will be putting their righteous devotion to democracy above their own health and helping process the thousands of others that will be risking their own health in an attempt to vote, or work the polls, tomorrow. 

This is epic irresponsibility. Republicans should be voted out. Public servants should not be so selfish and short-sighted that they are putting the people, they claim to represent, at risk.

In July 2016, a newborn baby died at the Milwaukee County Jail after the mother was forced to give birth on her cell floor. Now, three months after Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke’s Office was sued over the baby’s death, the controversial law enforcement leader is being sued for additional jail abuse of pregnant women. 

According to a federal lawsuit filed on March 14, plaintiff Melissa Hall was shackled before, during, and after childbirth at a local hospital in 2013. A “belly chain” was allegedly wrapped around her waist when she needed to use the restroom, and she had “her wrists attached to the waist and her legs attached to one another by leg-irons.” Hall claims the jail deputies also denied medical providers’ request to take the chains off her during childbirth, which made it difficult for those providers to give her an epidural.
